Everything. About me, huh? Well, I am currently on staff with InterVarsity Christian Fellowship in the LA area. I’ve lived through more than my share of painful things and I wouldn’t have survived them with out Jesus. I hope to inspire people with my life and I love sharing stories over good food (its the Italian in me). And I LOVE art. Check out my craft blog! That pretty much hits the basics, read the rest of my blog and I think you will get a pretty good sense of who I am and what I care about). Oh, I also am irrationally afraid of ants.
About the blog title:
As a college student, I was one of those obnoxious people who always applied what I was learning outside of class. I was a psychology major so it wasn’t that hard to do, but i’d always find a way to connect what I was experiencing with what II was learning. One friend in particular, a fellow psych major, would always groan when i’d say things like, “Hey remember that from adolescent development?” or “that was just like in the Social Animal!” She got rather annoyed with me. In some ways, I think, I still haven’t changed… I still look for ways that things I learned in some abstract or academic sense (through books, magazines, conferences, talks, other blogs, movies, etc) apply to the world around me. Maybe it’s my measure for what is true and what isn’t. If what i’ve learned doesnt make sense in the real world or doesnt map onto my experiences of humanity I tend to scrap it.
Another thing I began in earnest during college was my search for God. My constant question morphed from “how does this apply to life?” to “how do I see God in this thing, and then how does it apply to life?” Honestly it has made life a rather fascinating thing. I consider myself to be a life-long learner–there is no end to the things we can learn about life from anything like books to observing the world around us. And I am discovering God more and more in all things! There is a part in the Bible that says, “Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; he who seeks finds; and to him who knocks, the door will be opened.” I have definitely found that to be true on my quest to get to know God better…4 when my eyes are open and I am looking around I see God in all things.
